Have Your Proper Golf Swing Grip Right!

Spend some time to review your golf swing grip. While performing grip, you need to use what we called a neutral grip. When you have formed the proper grip, your hands will create the shape of “V” which having your thumb and forefinger on each hand are pointing towards the RIGHT shoulder. Make sure they are properly addressed and in-line. Remember not to grip so hard and tight. Simply hold it like you are holding a pigeon on your hands. Don’t squash the pigeon! Grip the club just tightly enough to control the golf club but still loosely enough that someone could still pull out the club of your hands.

Your Body Position Proper Set-up

When you think you are in-line with your RIGHT shoulder, your body needs to be properly aligned with your target line too! What a proper aligned is when your shoulder, hips, knees and feet should line up parallel to the club and target. Lay the golf club just behind the ball so that the shaft is parallel to your target line. Use this to set up your stance. You should use the golf club to check the alignment of the rest of your body. This will definitely helps you to develop a feel for your proper body alignment.

Your Golf Ball Right Position

Ideally, during addressing your body, your golf ball should be positioned so that your hands are ahead of the golf ball. In this stage, your left hand should be positioned just a little forward of the ball. By doing so you should be able to draw a straight line down your left arm through your hands and to the golf ball. This gives you the right way of positioning your body and posture. Always make sure that your head is slightly behind the ball. Swiveling your chin slightly to the right before starting the swing will help you keep your head behind the ball through impact.

Your Backswing (Finish through)

During hitting the ball, you will need to get a proper backswing as this is the most important. Start your backswing by turning the entire body in one piece allowing your body to swivel at the hips. After hitting the ball, don’t break your wrists too early in the backswing. Let your wrist to hinge naturally as you continue your backswing.
