Without this laid in our lap, you would have to travel nearly
20,000 miles, through six times zones and five different countries. We all know that will not happen in our life span. Just the
thought had my wallet screaming; my wife had her sixth since go off and the dreamer in me just woke up.
Of the courses that inspired this jewel, sixteen are so exclusive that the average golfer
would not be able to play them at any price. I called Augusta and they turned me down (well
after they thought I was a wacko). Greens fees for just one round at each of the six public
courses featured at the course total more than $1,000 – not including flight and accommodations. Lets get back down to reality and let me tell you why I like this course.
When you pull up outside World Tour’s 25,000 square foot antebellum clubhouse; their flies the
flags of our six represented countries – Australia, Canada, England, Scotland, Spain and the United States – and 10
states: California, Florida, Georgia, Louisiana, New Jersey, New York, North Carolina, Ohio and Pennsylvania.
Six different countries with four different languages (English, French, Scottish and Spanish) inspired the holes at
this beautiful course. The local hospitality you hear will let
you know that your in the south.
Over one million cubic yards of dirt were moved to authentically recreate the features and hazards
of the twenty seven holes included on the course.
During initial research for World Tour, owner Mel Graham traveled thousands of
miles to visit each hole on a 150-hole “short-list” of potential layouts. He was truly inspired by the
beauty about to take place. We all have a dream and his has come true.
There are more than 2,000 azaleas planted around the four holes inspired by Augusta National. If you have ever been
there you know how beautiful a site it is. We have been watching golf on TV for years
wondering if one day we could play at such a spector.
