Founded originally in 1962, Kenda spent a chunk of the last century focused on bikes. While they offer motorcycle, all terrain vehicle, and industrial use tires now, in the beginning cycling tires and tubes were their bread and butter. By the late seventies, the company began to increase its product line to include tires for every variety of bicyle, but also tires and tubes for motorcycles and manufacturing uses. The next decade had them expanding production to cars, but they were always known as the cycling tire company on top of the game. And certainly their financing of Olympic bicyclists only helped that image as they quickly created a loyal fan club.

How Do You Benefit?

But just because a corporation sponsors lots of riders doesn’t mean they have the greatest tire to choose from. This one, though, truly is, and it’s their dedication to customer service and creativity that changes everything. The riding conditions most riders face are arduous at best, but Kenda has done so much to compensate for that.

First, they’ve created individual lines, so whether you’re a commuter, or if you’re into cyclocross, or you’re hitting BMX hard every single day, they have a line made just for you. What’s more they have established rubber compounds other companies simply cannot offer. Depending on your riding purposes, of course, these can help with grip, offer you a lower level of resistance while you’re riding, or make sure punctures are less likely while you’re off road. Available in a variety of different densenesses and threads per inch, they’re considered to be the best in the industry, and with good reason.

These tires are made to last too. Kenda has made their tires to take the hard use people demand out of their bicycle and their tires. The tires have been reinforced to endure the punishment. That’s a level of quality you just don’t get from many tire companies these days.

Kenda has been one of the most trusted names in cycling for nearly half a century, and with so many new technologies credited to their name, it’s not hard to see why. Other bike tire companies have a difficult time keeping up with the automation involved. So it’s little surprise you see the Kenda name being ridden by so many bicyclist these days.
