India is proud to host this years Commonwealth Games 2010, Delhi. The first Commonwealth Games was held in the year 1930 in Hamilton in Canada. At that time, 400 athletes from 11 different countries participated in this prestigious event. From then on, Commonwealth Games are held after every four years. However, it was withheld during the years 1942 and 1946 due to the two World Wars. Ever since it was started, the Commonwealth Games has gained immense popularity throughout the world.
